Melbourne's best bike tours

Why walk when you can ride the sights?

See why international fashion mag Lucire described this as “the jewel in the crown” of Melbourne tours, NZ's Metro Magazine named it one of the top 10 things to do in Melbourne and why we're reviewed so well on TripAdvisor.

With Real Melbourne Bike Tours you'll see more in a few hours than most see in days. Get your bearings as you explore Melbourne’s grooviest streets, parks, shops, cafes, hidden laneways and multicultural neighbourhoods. Experience real Melbourne hospitality and sample some gourmet treats on this leisurely ride with a local guide. It’s the perfect way to start any Melbourne visit.

  • Find out which Italian cyclist founded Melbourne’s “Little Italy”, why Melbourne
was originally called Batmania and why a stuffed Kiwi horse is the number one drawcard at Melbourne Museum in this tour designed by Melbourne journalist and photographer Murray Johnson
  • Learn why Melbourne’s streets are lined with lava and its Eureka Tower is glazed in real gold
  • Discover the Greek tavern that has no menu and Melbourne’s best-kept-secret – Little Saigon
  • Melbourne’s best rooftop bar, the men’s salon that gives you a free Aussie beer with every haircut, the shop that boasts 40,000 cookbooks and lots more quirky “inside” info on the world’s most liveable, rideable city. Enjoy this easy, fun tour
  • Rediscover the wind in your hair and the freedom of eco-friendly cycling

Daily departures from Rentabike @ Federation Square... on the riverbank level near the Riverland Bar.

We have a maximum of 8 riders on our daily city tour, but run private tours for bigger groups on request.

We have a shop at Federation Square (where you can leave your stuff free of charge) and our own fleet of 60 light hybrid 21-speed  bikes in a variety of sizes.

We also have baby seats, children's bikes, tagalongs, tandems.

Our tours include a proper lunch, plus coffee and cakes in Little Italy and other surprise treats like maybe a wine with lunch, a beer tasting or Melbourne's best ice-cream depending on the weather and your preferences on the day.

Our clients include Qantas and Melbourne's top private and public schools as well as Tourism Victoria and we have featured in newspapers and magazines worldwide for 12 years, as well as on TV's Great Outdoors, Coxy's Big Break, Postcards and most recently Getaway.

Generally we don't recommend that children under 12 years of age ride on their own, as the tour does involve some city riding, but we leave that to the discretion of parents who best know their kids, and their experience and capabilities. We have had children complete the tour on their own bikes, tagalongs, the back of tandems, in buggies – even in baby seats.
Feel free to contact Murray through our home page if you have any questions.

Our famous city tour runs from 10am-2pm. Bookings are essential.
Adults $110 including full lunch plus coffee & cakes in Little Italy. Children (12-18) $79 Family of two adults and two kids U18 $299.

Why walk when you can ride the sights?

We are located in “Vault 14” at “Federation Wharf” – that’s the riverside level below Federation Square. Take the lift or stairs beside Prince’s Bridge down to the river level. We’re between the wonderful Riverland and Pilgrim bars near the river cruise ticket offices.
